Meet Our Donkeys

Donkey E.A.R.S CIC is home to a wonderful group of donkeys. Each of our donkeys has a unique personality and story. We invite you to come and meet them, learn about their individual journeys, and perhaps even sponsor your favourite donkey to enable us to support the wellbeing and education of those in need at reduced cost.

Alfie

He is the founding member of the herd bought from a cattle market 12 years ago. He is 10.2hh and 15 years old. His character is curious and confident and he likes to escape! His best friend is Hughie.

Hughie

Hughie was rescued from a farm where he was a stud donkey but he had been turned out on cattle pasture so his feet were rotten. He was afraid of men but has gained confidence and is the most affectionate and loving member of the herd. He is 11.1hh and 15years old. His best friend is Alfie and they plot how to overturn wheelbarrows together! His favourite thing in the world is having ear rubs.

Willy

Willy is the biggest member of the herd at 12hh with super big ears! He used to be a beach donkey in Great Yarmouth with Vinnie. He loves his food and chewing branches.

Vinnie

Vinnie is the smallest and oldest member of the herd. He retired from being a beach donkey in Great Yarmouth with Willy and now enjoys a more leisurely pace of life...although no one has told him he is 21 and he races around like a youngster! He loves his yellow bucket and spots feed being mixed in it from a million miles away!

Bertie

Bertie is our newest arrival and he was rejected from being a beach donkey as he liked to stand still rather than walk! He is our youngest donkey at 5years old and he is 10.2hh. He loves willow branches and raspberry canes.
